"For years I have been making music and producing visual art, two disciplines that have parallel lives that intertwine and influence one another profoundly, but rarely intersect in a concrete way. For this project, I have tried to combine these mediums, in both approach and product, starting with an idea for a song. The process of recording is similar to the layering process of printmaking, as different musical tracks are sonically burnished and textured before being collaged with their harmonic layers. What resulted may not be exactly described as “rebellious”, but certainly makes an attempt towards “integration”, where I hoped to make the visual lyrical, and the music conjure up a picture. The image itself (of both song and print) deals with the themes of most of my work, which plays with the way dreams are sewn together with odd bits of memory, mixed and strewn, and let loose on the plate and tongue."
