“Not With The Flow is my attempt to defy conformity in both concept and media. I have often integrated found materials in my three-dimensional work. Recently, this rejection of traditional art materials has transferred into my printmaking. Instead of archival paper, I have begun to print on book pages, found paper, fabric and other materials not typically used for traditional printmaking.

The image is also a lighthearted depiction of my refusal to follow the masses in matters of religion. I have always struggled with my religious upbringing and the expectations that have been placed upon me by family and friends. After much research, I am ready to evolve beyond my childhood indoctrination and follow my own path through life."
